St. Patrick’s Day was on March 17, 2023. This special event is celebrated by many people; they celebrate it by having parades, special foods, music, dancing, and many more! Although there are tons of celebrations on St. Patrick’s Day, there is also history to it as well. This event is to commemorate Saint Patrick and how Christianity arrived in Ireland. St. Patrick’s is the celebration of both the heritage and culture of the Irish. There are many unique traditions that accompany this celebration, like wearing green, displaying shamrocks, pinching each other, and even keeping an eye out for the leprechaun! Pinching came to be a common event on this day because of folklore. By wearing green, you would be invisible to the leprechauns, but if you did not then you were doomed to get a pinch by the leprechauns. People all around recognize this day as a fun holiday. So on the next St. Patrick’s Day, make sure to wear green to not get pinched!
