2022 BETA Convention
Updated: Jan 27, 2023
The National BETA Club is an organization for 4th through 12th grade students in the United States. Its purpose is to promote an environment of academic achievement, character, leadership, and service among students. It was founded by Dr. John W. Harris in 1934 and its headquarters is in Spartanburg, SC. "Let Us Lead By Serving Others,” - the club motto was truly represented by the Oliver Springs High School students that participated in the 2022 Nashville convention, and by those who came to support their friends in competition.
The students that presented their work at the convention were: Scarlet Ruffner, Tabitha Lacom, Kadee Cox, Jayden Carlson, Gracie Hammonds, Lydia Yoakly, Sophia Freels, Avery Vickery, Megan Henley, and Emma Hicks. They competed in competitions ranging from speech to T-shirt design to photography. Junior Lydia Yoakley placed second in the division 2 jewelry competition. Our BETAs really went all out this year to show off their skills; it was definitely a convention to remember!
