2022 Roane County Youth Leadership Graduation

Updated: Jan 27, 2023

Five students from Oliver Springs High School were selected to represent their county, school, and community. These five students participated in a week-long ‘camp’ over the summer to learn the ins and outs of Roane County. They took one day per town and learned some of the history of the towns, what they could do to make an impact, and how to lead. To graduate from this program each student had to complete 2 civic meetings, attend every day of the summer camp, and maintain above average grades. All five students from Oliver Springs completed these regulations. Their graduation was Tuesday, November 22nd, at Roane State Community College. The students gave speeches at their graduation about how the program has shaped them and what their favorite parts about it were. In return, the students were given books and certificates of accomplishment. Congratulations to Walker Booth, Carson NIvens, Nicole Gann, Emma Proffitt, and Lydia Yoakley!

-And a big thank you to Ms. Kathy Parks for making this all possible.
