Alumni Spotlight: Claudia "Snookie" Patterson
Claudia “Snookie” Patterson represents truly what it means to be a Bobcat for life. The Oliver Springs alumni graduated from OSHS in 1969. She was a huge influence in her time, taking up several clubs and sports. She participated in the Letterman's Club, Beta Club, student council, and even served as the yearbook editor through high school. She had been a clarinet player for the Oliver Springs Band since 5th grade. When Claudia was not participating in these many activities and clubs, she was extremely dedicated to being cheer captain. Even after she graduated, she was extremely involved in her community and school. She taught English for 27 years, served 8 years as guidance counselor, and then returned to be a graduation coach for 4 years. She is currently the secretary of the alumni education foundation, which is the group responsible for helping us become a STEAM and level 5 school. To this day, you can still see her at almost any sporting event, band concert, and local event in Oliver Springs. Ms. Patterson says, “I am the number one sports and band fan. And I love my school and always will, and will always help when they need.” She also wanted to give a word of wisdom for all OSHS students: “Always be proud of where you're from and your school. Give the best you can, always. You never know who's watching.” - Claudia Patterson, the true Bobcat for life.
