Caffeinated Caramel Competition
Starbucks vs Dunkin' Donuts: Caramel Coffee Edition
We all know that coffee shops have to have a signature drink that really makes them stand out against the competition, but how can you make an extravagant drink that pleases everyone? Well Dunkin and Starbucks have done it again; they have each created a signature caramel coffee that shows off their own unique aspects. Dunkin’s Caramel Craze is sweeter and designed with better mechanics for a smooth taste. Even with Starbucks’ Caramel Macchiato that has better coffee taste and caramel flavor, it does not compare to the overall value of Dunkin’s drink that comes with whipped cream and cinnamon inclusions. With Starbucks coming in at $3.75 and Dunkin with $2.09 per 12oz, there is no competition that Starbucks is completely overrated. However, Starbucks has a unique quality to their ice cubes, and it might be the difference in their addictive qualities. Starbucks ice cubes are called “coffee ice cubes” and are made by layers of filtered water freezing in sheets. This process causes the ice to last longer, be clearer, and have a smoother texture. These signature drinks both have their outstanding qualities, but as far as the best drink in the whole shop, Starbucks can definitely step up their game.
