Help Wanted
Parents, coaches, and teachers, hear our cry! Teams of all sorts at your school need your support. The students of OSHS raise money for their school and their sports, but is it enough? We all know football is extremely involved with the community and receives support from everywhere. It has an entire week dedicated to it (homecoming), and girls and boys from all different clubs and teams raise money for a sport they do not even play. And not to mention, in addition to the football team, our skillful boys basketball team gets more students in its student section than any other sport. The only fundraising that others get is from the hard-working kids that are participating in that extracurricular. There is not a short supply of school spirit or money, but there is in support. As a school, we need more outreach from the community. If we can have a major student section for some, then we should have that for others. If we can have major funding in one sport, then we should have that for others. If we can put so much effort, time, and support into one or two sports, then we should have that for all.
