How I Interpret Thanksgiving

Over the past years, Thanksgiving has become one of the most overlooked holidays due to its position between Halloween and Christmas.

Although Halloween and Christmas are two of the most beloved holidays in American society, Thanksgiving is just as important. These holidays are seen as superior to Thanksgiving. Halloween is great fun for everyone–people get to dress up and, of course, get candy. Christmas is mostly a Christian holiday, but it is still celebrated by secular communities and families in different ways. Thanksgiving can be interpreted religiously, but it is derived from our nation’s history, meaning it should be celebrated by every citizen!

To me, Thanksgiving is not just about the historical story of the Native Americans and the Pilgrims, of which has been misinterpreted over the years, it is about looking over your life and finding things to be thankful for. So go celebrate Thanksgiving and find something to be thankful for!
