OSHS Homecoming and Class Elections 2022-2023

The beginning of the school year is always full of chaos. Everyone is figuring out their schedules, there's a flock of new freshmen, and last, but not least, the class officer and homecoming rivalry.

The class officer elections were held at OSHS on August 17th via the school wide Google Classroom. The school was filled with posters and people wearing T-shirts representing each group that ran. Each of the groups of students that ran were very dedicated, but in the end only four groups won, those being:

For the freshman class: President Wyatt Zeigler, Vice President Jonah Robbins, Secretary Victoria McCrary, Treasurer Alie Brown, Sergeant of Arms Caden Whedbee.

For the sophomore class: President Hope Moran, Vice President Carson Nivens, Secretary Kadee Cox, Treasurer Samantha Brown, Sergeant at Arms Ava Brown.

For the junior class: President Emma Proffitt, Vice President Laura Beasley, Secretary Evie Denham, Treasurer Madison Hooks, Sergeant at Arms Layla Vowell.

Lastly, the senior class: President Kylee Alcorn, Vice President Harleigh Woods, Secretary Rylee Phillips, Treasurer Michael Tuck, Sergeant at Arms Bryson Greene.

With football season starting, the elections for homecoming queen and fundraising for football queen also begin. Homecoming votes came straight from the student body via Google Classroom, which were also held on August 17th. The homecoming queen candidates include Kynleigh Fox & Brooklyn Newton for the freshman class, Kadee Cox & Lillian Denham for the sophomore class, Evie Denham & Emilia McIlwain for the junior class, and Cloe Murray & Jada Stone for the senior class. Those running for football queen are fundraising by selling things to the student body. The football queen is determined by whomever raises the most money. The winners of homecoming queen as well as football queen will be announced at the homecoming football game against Oakdale on September 23th.
