Staff Spotlight: Meet Our New Teachers

Here at the OS Press we want to shout out staff members that we all feel are deserving of a little extra appreciation for all that they do. This month’s focus is on the new teachers at OSHS.


Mr. Steven Stratton is from Ohio, and attended Little Miami High School in Morrow, Ohio. After he graduated from high school in 1995, he went straight into the military. Mr. Stratton attended two colleges: the University of Tennessee and Austin Peay State University. He got two certifications in computer science and math.

Q: What is your method of teaching?

A: "Everybody has the capability to learn and it's my job to make my students succeed in life."

Q: What are your professional goals?

A: "Explain math to a bunch of people."

Q: What is the best piece of advice someone has given you?

A: "Life is full of choices! "

Ms. Hannah Robbins is from Oliver Springs, TN, and graduated from Oliver Springs High School. She went to East Tennessee State University. Ms. Hannah previously worked at a hospital before pursuing teaching. After obtaining her degree, she now works here at Oliver Springs High School.

Q: What is your method of teaching?

A: "It's still a learning experience since it's my first year teaching."

Q: What are your professional goals?

A: "Knowing that everything is possible, and helping people learn and achieve their goals."

Q: What is the best piece of advice someone has given you?

A: "You learn more from failing than you do from being successful."

Ms. Laura Carpenter is from Fayetteville, Tennessee, and she graduated from Lincoln County High School. The college that she attended was Tennessee Tech University. She loves all things that are glittery and her beautiful dog.

Q: What is your method of teaching?

A: "I believe in treating all students fairly, being helpful, and welcoming."

Q: What are your professional goals?

A: " Getting to know all my students and helping them have a successful path in life."

Q: What is the best piece of advice someone has given you?

A: "Focus on school and work."
