Update on the New School Building

Over the past few years, the school board has had many ideas about a new school for Oliver Springs. During the summer of 2021, Oliver Springs High School started building their new idea. Chief Editor, Nicole Gann, and myself interviewed Mr. Nivens, revealing a great deal about the new school. They are going to be splitting the current middle school between the middle schoolers and high schoolers.

Due to the size of the school, they are having to build onto the middle school to make it where the students will adequately fit. They are currently in the process of finishing the building. Also, they are building on a much needed second gym, as well as a new band room. We will also be getting a new woodshop and a machine shop. Since we are not getting new classrooms, they will be renovating the old ones. As of today, the school names will not be changing. The building is expected to be finished up around May or June of 2023. If all of the building goes as planned, the new school year, 2023-2024, students and staff will be in the new building.
