On Friday, August 19th, thunder roared from the passionate crowd. The first Oliver Springs game of the football season was an away game at Rockwood. With an advantage in the first quarter, it all went downhill from there. However, they did well considering their challenging circumstances. They had five players out for Covid, several players injured, three starters were out, and a new coach. Thomas Albert says, “Coach Bigs is definitely harder on us than we’re used to. It’s a lot different from last year.” They most certainly have many new things going on and new people! A first time player, Andrew Puckett, told of his experience, “Yeah. It was my first game ever playing for this school and my shoe came off in the middle of a play.” There are many obstacles for the football team this year, but the real question is: Will they overcome it?
