Rugby Tryouts
Rugby is starting its season and they are looking for recruits: people that are strong and are looking to have fun! The 15s season will start in the month of January and end in the month of May. Rugby was invented in the early 19th century as a variation on football. It is a team sport where each player can really go all out. Rugby is a 15 or 7 player team sport. The object of the game is to ground the ball behind the opponent’s try line, into what is called the in-goal area. Rugby is played with the ball in hand. However, when the ball is being carried in hand it can only be thrown or handed off backwards. This is because it is the process of the player, not the ball, that is decisive in this sport. That is one difference between rugby and American football, although the two are often confused among laypeople. It is a sport for males and females who have a pair of football cleats, sports gear, and a mouth guard but these materials are provided to those who can not get them. Rugby is a full-contact sport. You have to learn to bring down your opponent. This takes toughness. Strength, craftiness and body control are crucial to survival.. So, why not give it a try! It might be your thing.
